Fred's Story

I was a late bloomer; and I am the first to recognize that! I did some wild, crazy, and stupid thing during the first 28 years of my life. (However, I have to say there were many good and enjoyable times within those wacky 28 years) Alternatively, I like to say, "I was late to mature"! I really did not get serious about my life until I was about 29 years old. At 29, I started working for several different Snowmobile Companies, I found it easier to work when I had a job that paid me to have fun! At age 34, I had the good fortune of going to work for Yamaha Motor Corp. USA., as a motorcycle district manager. The first years had me living in several different districts/cities, such as Nashville, Tn., New York City, NY, Boston, Mass., and Summit, NJ. I then resided in the Cypress Ca, area for several years. This is when/where I accepted the position of Project Manager, for both Yamaha Scooters and Snowmobile product lines for the 50 United States and the Virgin Islands. This permitted me to work with all Yamaha district managers and visit most of their dealer network in many major cities in the USA. Along with this, I also had job opportunities that allowed me to meet and work with many infamous persons such as Larry Hagman, the Jackson Five, Sting, Billy Joel, Malcolm Forbes, Gene Autry, Billy Jean King, and more. However, the most unforgettable and enjoyable person/character I worked with was Reggie Jackson. However, sometime during those California years I decided that I did not enjoy and was not having all that California Fun that was made available while being an office rat/person. ct their much-regimented duties to be followed (especially the Japanese). I then requested a transfer back to the field as a district manager. Upper management granted my request and allowed me to choose from several areas/districts. I selected Florida, and moved to the Ormond Beach area. Once again, I began work and enjoyed all the Florida Fun that was made available as a Motorcycle, ATV, Side by Side and Scooter District Manager During my thirty-four and a half year stint with Yamaha Motor Corp. USA, my wife (at the time) and I had the opportunity to visit most European Countries, China and Japan (Some several times)! I feel that I was most fortunate to have such an exciting and fun job that allowed me to do the things I have done, visit the places I have traveled to, and got paid to do so! May 1, 2009, I retired; it was a great ride! During the past forty years, I have also managed to gain more than a few pounds, and loose more hair than I already had. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that during that same period I managed to marry 4 times. At 3:18PM, December 18 of 2007, my beautiful fourth wife of ten years gave birth to our 9.8 pound twenty-one and a half inch handsome (everyone tells us he is handsome) and healthy son. Along with being with my wife and son, I also enjoy riding motorcycles, boating/fishing, roughing it up with our Giant Schnauzer, and my wife and I still find traveling a priority. We are now planning a 2010 five-week summer vacation to Colombia, South America; this is my wife's native country. While there, we plan to spend some time with her family and then tour more of her countries historic cities and their beautiful green manicured countryside's. LIFE HAS BEEN/IS GOOD!
