Fred's Story
My father worked for the government so we grew up in an environment much like Army base kids, we moved from Atlanta, to Nashville and then my father retired and moved us to Hickman County down in Primm Springs It was a dramatic shock as you can imagine going from a city life to a country life, but it was good for me, so many new things to see, explore and do, the woods, fields and streams filled my imagination and soul. Dad wanted me to be a doctor so science and math were the books I poured over for years but sadly it just wasn't meant to be as my real calling was to be an engineer a goal I achieved for myself later in life.
My work led me away from Hickman County and quite far afield, even spent time in Japan, something I had secretly longed to do but never thought would be possible in my life. I settled down out west working for a company producing parts for the aeros...Expand for more
pace industry and had hoped to retire their but events led me back to the East where I retired near my two daughters in Indiana and Michigan. They have blessed me with three wonderful grandchildren that have been a joyous blessing to my life. Just recently we had a new addition and my first great grandchild entered my life sweet little Sadie Marie, I pray for many years to play with her.
I nearly lost it all last year when a horrific disease nearly took my life. A year ago I was out of the coma and in a rehabilitation hospital learning how to walk again and with God's love, a lot of intense therapy from some really dedicated therapists and the love of my family I can somedays walk with a cane now, depends on the day and I am certain many of you can empathize with that. It is just so good to be near family and may each of you be blessed with that in your lives. Take care.
