Fred's Story

Life I have lived in several states since High School. I joined the Navy in 1969 and received a medical discharge in 1971. I began college that year in Boston, MA, transferred to Univ of Lowell in 1973 and graduated in 1976. Got a job in NYC and moved to New Orleans in 1977. Came back to NYC in 1978 and was there until 1980, when I moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Changed jobs again in 1982 and was sent back to New Orleans for 6 months. While I was there a second time, I realized that I left something behind in Greenville, so I went back, proposed to Shirley and was married 3 mos later, when I was being transferred to Syracuse, NY. d three children (no, it wasn't the cold). Left Syracuse in 1994, moved back to South Carolina, but that didn't work out. Moved to Pittsbuirgh, PA in 1995 and back to Long Island in 1997. My kids are pretty independent now! I was self employed as an Inventory Information Consultant and November 2001 became Manager of Purchasing and Inventory Control Activities for the New York Post Newspaper. In January, 2008, I joined Westinghouse Electric Co north of Pittsburgh, PA in the Supply Chain Management Group. I am incharge of several Nuclear Procurement Process Imorovement initiatives.
