Fred's Story

Rick is from El Paso, Texas (actually born in Indianapolis, IN; but got to El Paso at 3 months old). Rick's schools include Burges High School (8th to 10th), then graduating from Eastwood High School (11th & 12th). I later attended University of Texas at El Paso (6 semesters, Electrical Engineering) . I owned Rick Duncan Enterprises, Hi Performance Warehouse, Inc., and was a Regional Sales Manager Rep. (Automotive Racing, Performance and Accessories) for Pro Marketing Corp. - Denver Colorado. My interests include Drag Racing, riding my Harley, traveling in the 5th wheel RV, Science, Sports. What a GREAT and sometimes Dangerous ride it's been!!!! - Me There can ONLY be ONE First Graduating Class of a high school, I was in Eastwood's!! - Me I was "Forced" to retire early at 62 July 2008 due to illness that started March 2006; part of a continuing series of health issues over the years caused by a radar radiation over-exposure accident in the Navy during the Six Day War. Enjoying working on house & property, riding my Harley, & playing in my garage on my project cars and bike. Had 3 kids (1 deceased), 6 grand kids & 3 great grand kids. Married briefly for 2 1/2 years, divorced and single for 5 years. Navy veteran Aug, 1965-'71, Obtained Petty Officer 2nd Class - Electronics Tech (Vietnam & 6 Day War vet). Owned an automotive performance and specialty warehouse in El Paso, TX (Hi Performance Warehouse, Inc.) for 20+ years. Raced Lotus 18 Formula Ford & Formula Sports Car for several years, then got involved with racing circle track Sprint Cars. Then owned and drove a Drag race car "23 Bucket T" 'A' Fuel Altered (140-170 MPH) and an Alcohol Injected 'Pro Comp' Funny Car (170-200 MPH) for many years around Texas & New Mexico,the Southwest including Arizona & Colorado, & West to California. Retired from Prof. Drag Racing Jan, '91. After racing and auto parts sales went back to school to learn and get certified as a M/S Certified Computer IT System Administrator and System Engineer (Rick Duncan Enterprises) for small municipalities. My area of work was hardware, operating systems, and network specialist including VPN's. Retired July 2008 due to illness that started in March 2006 (Hypophosphatemia & Phosphaturia) caused by tumors (Oncogenic Osteomalacia) from radar radiation over exposure accident in Navy. Rare condition that has no cure but VA renal doctors have managed to control it very well. Next step is to BEAT it!!! Enjoy riding my Harley Dyna Wide Glide through Texas Hill Country, working on house and property (7 acres), and playing with my cars & bike in the garage. Have lived in Bandera, Texas for 22 years - "The Cowboy Capital of the World". Yes, I'm a 'Drug Store Cowboy' and have been most of my life! Have recently gotten back involved with Prof. Drag Racing "The Southwest Superchargers", "Outlaw Superchargers", IHRA Pro Top Dragster and am having a BLAST!".
