Frederick's Story

Joined Navy Reserves 12/53. Active Duty after CHS Graduation 8/55 - 7/58. Served as Flight Crew Chief Memphis, Pensacola, Pawtuxent River, MD, Argentia Newfoundland - Foot surgery U.S. Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md - Discharged. Went back to summer school in RI to take College Credit Courses. 8/59 Left RI for Wash. DC. Went to IBM School - Recruited by the National Security Agency - Served 6 years at NSA. Private Industry 3 1/2 years Gov. Contractor. After Martin Luther king was assinated, hired by U.S. Department of Justice to design and implement the DOJ System that tracked Civil Diorder throughout the country. Fred provided facility and personnel security clearance consulting services to Federal Government and Department of Defense (DOD) contractors. Fred was brought out of retirement by the Pentagon to provide Security consulting expertise to the Pentagon Renovation Program Contractors for post 9/11 Pentagon Crash-Site reconstruction & renovation initiatives. in early 2001 concluding 15 years as Director of Internal Audit & Corporate Security. Fred retired from the U.S. Department of Justice in 1986 serving 18 years in Internal Audit, Program & Internal Review and Analysis, Data Processing Management, and Intelligence Systems Development assignments that included extended details with The Bureau of Prisons, Drug Enforcement Administration, Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS), U.S. Attorney Offices and the Office of the Inspector General, U. S. Dept. of Agriculture. When the USSR backed out of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles stating that the U.S. could not protect against terrorism, Fred headed the INS team that inspected US Immigration and commercial airline and port of entry procedures throughout the country, Canada, and Mexico to assure INS regulation compliance prior to the games. Fred designed the Department of Justice Intelligence System that monitored the riots and civil disorders throughout the country during the late 60¿s and early 70¿s. Fred also served 6 years with the National Security Agency. Fred served in the U.S. Navy, is a graduate of the University of Maryland, The Federal Executive Institute, he is a Commerce Department Science & Technology Fellow where he served as Special Assistent to the Agriculture Dept. Inspector General investigating Food Stamp Fraud and conducted disaster relief fund distributions for Mt. St. Helens grantees touring disaster site and Mt. throat in Army Helicopters, a 1999 graduate of the FBI Washington, DC Field Office Citizen¿s FBI Academy and is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and The Institute of Internal Auditors. Fred has presented his pro-bono "How to Protect Yourself from Identity Theft" Seminars 60 times to Seniors, Churches, and Major Community Service Organizations.
