Fredna's Story

Life Spouse: Mike from Mt. Vernon Washington, Trinidad, California and Edwards, MS. Collectively we have three children:two sons and one daughter. She is married and the mother of three children. School days:I graduated from Brandon, but I attended Pearl and Brandon almost an equal amount of time; my first grade was at Forest Hill,(in Miss Phillips' class) and that's why I'm on three different schools! Brief history of my life since graduation:One day when I was out socializing, my mother enrolled me in business college;I majored in secretarial business management, which was not really what I wanted to do, but Mama said! I have worked in various levels of office management through the years, including sales and customer service. My last (I hope) full time employment was Administrative Assistant in a MS state agency. In the mid seventies I attended cosmetology school and worked as a hairdresser for twelve years. My love for makeup led me into cosmetic sales and application for several years. In 1966, a high school friend (you know who you are!) talked me into going to cruise Shoney’s and I met my first husband that night. We married three months later, staying together for sixteen years. My daughter was born in our eleventh year of marriage;we divorced in 1982. We lived in Southwest Mississippi, working publicly and raising cattle. In 1985 I met Mike while we were both attending Parents Without Partners. We married in December 1986. Through the years I have moved away from and back to Pearl several times. I’ve had sort of a “Forrest Gump” life, finding myself in situations I would never have dreamed of. God’s grace has brought me through the worst of those;I’ve laughed ...Expand for more
through some and cried through others but I’ve learned a lot and definitely am a stronger person because of some of my experiences. A few years ago, I found myself lobbying before the legislature for prison reform, based on experiences of a family member and my visits to them. I found myself wishing I had paid a lot more attention in Civics in school! Mike and I have traveled together throughout one half of the United States, and hope to start doing more traveling in the near future. We have lived in Colorado and New Mexico. A family situation brought us to TN and we have decided to buy land in the eastern TN and/or KY boonies and settle there. Mike is medically retired from his trade and we work together part time; I make jewelry and write and design greeting cards which we currently sell at flea markets, where we enjoy meeting and talking to people from all over. My plans include a web site under my creative alias, Fluffy Fox Creations to showcase and sell my jewelry, cards from there also. I want to bring the tradition of wearing aprons back and will have those on my website. I write, have had some poems and articles published, and have that novel inside of me, which I am saving to do when I hit the mountains of KY or TN! My writing interest is wide and varied, from children’s stories to opinion/experience books, Christian and regular fiction and non fiction. Hobbies:We love anything outdoors; Mike is an avid bow and muzzle loader hunter, participating competitively with both in years past. I love photography, writing, reading, and grandchildren. Since cell phones and unlimited calling have been invented, I love to stay in touch with family and friends across the United States.
