Fredrick's Story
Didn't make it all the way to graduation day. Went to school- didn't say I went to class- to busy at the pool hall, using or selling the stuff in my pockets to have a good time. Ended up in jail & prison after having two sons, Fred Chaney, III & Tobin Chaney with my wife Lisa Haraughty. Did drugs, alcohol and prison for the next 19 years. Got clean & sober, by going to 12-step, at the age of 41- now I'm 10 years clean & sober and have an incredible life helping others that are like me. David 17 & Jasmine 14. My sons each had two sons a peice- Fredrick Chaney, IV Cody Ray Chaney- Tobin Chaney, Jr. & Thomas Chaney- I'm proud to say are My Grandsons. My eldest son died accidentally 8 years ago and we all miss him very much.
For work I get to help other ex-cons like me rebuild their lives. We have a non-profit that has 9 sober living homes in central coast calif. area. We are not rich in funds- not by any means- but we are rich in the lives we get to touch, watch grow and by the friends we've made along the way. We are blessed.
