Jay's Story
Life
After graduation I served three years in the California Conservation Corp, fought numerous wildland fires. In 2002, I moved to Roseburg, Oregon and began working in the timber industry. Currently work in a sawmill that mainly employs disabled persons.

When I went to school at newport High School in Washington, the teacher that inspired me the most was Mr. Mike Hapinstal. He was the Wrestling coach as well as a junior high school teacher. He was a kind, loving, caring and gentle man who did his best to take care of his students as well as his wrestlers.
Workplace
Went from conserving the forest in California to producing wood products in Roseburg, Oregon.
