Life ... After high school at Parkside Collegiate I went to work for my city's Radio Station CHLO 1570 as an assistant engineer, I recorded ads for broadcast and other media and was there repairing equipment for the station, checking and setting the antenna patterns etc. I met some great radio personalities while working there...Rich Greven, Rede MacWilliam (Rick Janssen) Chuck Azzarello, Jerry Stevens etc (I went to the CHLO Reunion held at The Midtown Tavern a few years back where I met more staff that worked at CHLO , after leaving there I spent some time working in a factory Perfect Circle Victor (Hayes Dana) on Elm Street in St Thomas. We made piston rings and gaskets for the automotive and truck markets. About 1976 they changed and started making drive train products. I left there in August 1979 I wanted to have a more interesting occupation than just working at a factory for the rest of my life. In Sept 1979 I attended Fanshawe College. (It was fun... I made many many friends and I graduated with a Business Data Processing Diploma (Computer Programming/Systems Analyst) but at the time that I graduated in 1981, the recession hit. I had to find something else to do as there were a lot of programmers who already had experience and they were out of work; so I operated a restaurant with my brother which we started in 1986 in Lambeth called PJ's Restaurant. We operated the restaurant for about 2 years and then I went on to work at an office collecting debts as a collection officer in London (Canadian Bonded Credits) on Queens Ave. I learned quickly and then I went to work for another agency called FCA (Financial Collection Agencies) in 1989 on York Street I was Collection Supervisor there ... after nearly 2 years (it was 1991) I went on to work for an agency in collections on ...Expand for more
