Kenneth's Story
Wow, Who am I? I'm not sure I've lived long enough to say. I'm a father, a husband, a friend, a dreamer and free thinker, an adventurure seeking to get every last morsel of enjoyment and happiness out of this crazy world. I'm naive, often amazed at the callousness and coldness the world can hold for those less fortunate. I'm astounded at where I've come in life. A highly respected and very good project superintendent for the heavy civil division of a large construction company. I'm currently working on what will be the largest natural gas fired powerplant in the southeast. My wife Tara, we have been together since I was 17, and my boys (Blake and Kane, 16 and 14) live just outside Atlanta. My prior 2 projects where in Sarasota and Naples Florida. I love what I do and I love my family. I'm also a young grandfather. My oldest Brooke has a 2 year old son (Jake)and another on the way, I hope they name him...Expand for more
after me! I couldn't imagine life without them. I've had cancer...fought that battle and won. I don't know how long my life will be. Regarding the type of cancer I had, statistically there is a 50% cure rate. If I can make it 2 and a half more years without a reoccurance for a total of five. I'll be considered cured. If not, it will kill me. I often imagine my life hanging on a coin flip and the coin has hit the table on edge...spinning and spinning. One day it will stop and fall. Oddly I'm not worried. In a way having cancer has been a blessing. It's renewed my faith in people and God. Opened my eyes to whats truly important and motivated me to do everything I ever wanted. Because I truly understand how valuable everyday is. And that I believe is a gift. There so much I wish to say, so much I've seen and learned. Life has been a wonderful, fulfilling ride so far and i can't wait to see where it goes.
