Becky's Story
It's me - Becky. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, an alumni, friend, supervisor, Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, ministry volunteer and most of all, a child of God! I am a graduate of Joshua High School - class of 1992! (aka becky myers). I am married to my high-school sweetheart, Gabriel Akin. We married in May 1994. In January 1996 we welcomed our daughter, Mariah Dawn. Mariah is in the 6th grade and plays the Clarinet. In Feb '99, our family grew to include our son, Kadyn Bryce. Kadyn is in the 3rd grade. He is already the all-american athlete. He currently plays football, has played soccer, baseball, basketball and indoor soccer. Our third child was born Oct. 2000 - Corbin Grant. He is in 1st grade. He also plays Soccer & Baseball and wants to be just like his brother.
I have one marvelous brother, Eric. He left this chaotic earth March 31, 2000 - the day the world stood still. He left behind two precious boys, Justin Wade and William David - who are currently being raised by my parents in Joshua, TX. I have 3 sisters 1) Kristy, husband David and a niece, Anna Michelle and nephew, Jonathan David of Simonton, Texas. Love them to death - miles separate us, but they are always near and dear to my heart! 2) Misti, husband Chad and 3 nephews, Preston, Seth and Ethan 3) Caren, husband, Larry and Baby Claire of Mansfield, Texas.

Most importantly, I am a child of God, daughter of the King-Jesus Christ. I received Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in July 1999, while attending Youth Camp as a counselor. My husband and I currently volunteer in our student ministry on a weekly basis through our local church, The Church At Burleson (TCAB). My true passion in student ministry to connect with and disciple young girls.
I am madly in love with my husband - he is the best man in the world - he's a great husband, father, friend & lover. He completes me! I love my children uniquely! My parents inspire me to do great things! My brother was my best friend and I miss him terribly. My mammaw was a saint and the angels are blessed! My pappaw is my hero and he fought for our freedom. God bless him! In summation, I simply could not live without family, friends and relationships in my life. My passion in life is truly to make a difference in the lives of other people - young people primarly. I am blessed.
My life verse is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I thoroughly enjoy watching my children play sports and Scrapbooking is a pastime!! My parents - they are such an inspiration to me. When they should be enjoying retirement years, they are raising two of their grandchild, have suffered the loss of their first born and continue to be a strength for all their grandchildren!
