Gabrielle's Story
Hello SFA, SAH, & DOE friends and colleagues!
This is just an update on some info for those of you who read this stuff every now and then! I am married 38 years now, and have three wonderful offspring, and TEN grandchildren - oldest granddaughter, Jada, her brothers, Josiah, Micah, Gabriel, & their youngest sister, Jolie Joey's children), their cousins, Cayden, Julian, & Christian (Christopher's children), and the two youngest grandchildren, Landon and his baby brother Logan!! I have two daughter in laws - Alicia is Joseph's wife, and Jorden is Christopher's wife. I also have a son in law, Gavin. Gavin is married to my youngest offspring, Tai. Tai & Gavin are the parents of Landon and Logan. I married Joe - the Prospect Park skateguard with the Volkswagen van. Joe attended St. Patrick's Elementary School (Kent Ave), Most Holy Trinity High School (which closed at the end of his junior year), Richmond Hill High School, and Brooklyn College. Our oldest, Joseph (38), and the daddy of Jada, Josiah, Micah,Gabriel, & Jolie is married, and living / working in NJ. Christopher, our 35 year old middle child, and Cayden, Julian, & Christian's daddy, is now working / residing in MI with his wife and boys. our children attended Hampton University in VA. Joe is now a retired lieutenant of the Fire Department of NYC. Prior to his retirement, he was the Executive Director of the Fire Safety Education Unit. He spent most of his career (25 years) with the fire department fighting fires throughout Brooklyn and reaching hundreds of New Yorkers by educating them regarding fire safety and prevention. However, he spent a total of 35 years working for the City of New York. That time included being there on 9/11 and working on the digout at Ground Zero for MONTHS! We all are thankful that he is not running in buildings anymore with fire at his heels! I have taken leave (vested out) from my supervisory position (Principal of The Weeksville School/P.S. 243,Brooklyn) with the NYC Department of Education. It was time for me focus on quality of life! So, we made a GIANT move to Florida, and live in the "active adult community" of Solivita! I am back to cooking dinner more often, going to dinner and shows, joining friends at the pool, playing cards, Mahjong, and Texas Canasta... just having a BALL!
