Life
The "then" photo of me is when I was 17, and my brother and I took this for our parents' 25th wedding anniversary!!
Military
Well, if I had the Army to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. It was one of the best times of my life. I was in from 1978-1984. Two of my Drill Sergeants were SSG Greer and SSG Leonard. SSG Greer would get up IN my face and it was all I could do not to laugh.
And being a leftie didn't go in my favor!! Our company commander who's name eludes me at this time put me down for 20 push ups when I saluted him with my left hand. I later became a platoon guide.
From Ft. Jackson I went to Ft. Sill, OK for AIT and worked in PAC, 6th Training Batta...Expand for more
lion(Captain Michael Renaud, I'm still looking for you) then on to HHB Divarty in Hanau W. Germany and then HQ, 3rd Armd Division in Frankfurt where I remained until 1983.
I'm looking for friends that were stationed with me during these times. Mynell Roetger, you were my rock in Basic!! SSG Leonard...did you survive Germany? If you're out there, let me know!!
However, most of my fondest memories remain with the time I did in the military. Now that I'm 55, I've been fortunate enough to find some of my old military comrades with whom I reminisce with on a regular basis...it's just toooooo much fun!! If you think you know me, or remember me....10-1 I'll remember you!!
