Gail's Story

Life I worked as a dental assistant during my last two years of high school and for a couple of years after graduating. I thought this was my vocation until I fell in love with flying and airplanes. I worked at both Monmouth County Airport (now Allaire) and Red Bank Airport, which is now gone!!! In 1964 I moved to Connecticut to go to work for Pilgrim Airlines, a regional airline. When I started there were 9 employees, I was the only female. We only flew to Idlewild Airport (now JFK). I retired in 1985 as Director of Administration & Finance, at that time there were over 400 employees and we were serving cities as far away as Washington, DC and Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto in Canada. I married in 1971 and divorced in 1981. I ...Expand for more
remarried in 1988. No children from either marriage. I do have two wonderful step-daughters and sons-in-law as well as four grandchildren…, lots of fun. My husband is a private pilot and for a while we had our own airplane. What an experience to see so much of our great country and beyond in a small aircraft rather than a jumbo jet. Since 1988 I have lived in Hackensack, NJ, Boston, MA (the greatest), and White Plains, NY (ugh). During this time we maintained my house Waterford, CT and lived there until we moved to Maine in 2008. The move put us closer to family, especially the grandkids. I am content being a housewife , although my business cards say COO of the Brown Household . I love gardening, photography, & camping.
