Gail's Story
Hi, after graduation, I worked in jacket factory in Danville. Met & married David Underwood, we moved to Hoopeston & managed Marty-K restaurant for 4yrs. Left there & moved to Georgetown & opened CSQ restaurant for 6yrs. In 1978, we became parents of a son, Dustin. In 1981, we moved to Crystal River, Fl for 4yrs. In 1984, we moved to Tampa, Fl & opened a Spainish cafeteria, we divorced in 1991. In 1992, I married Bud Seward of Tampa, he passed away in May 2001 from lung cancer due to smoking and Agent Orange exposure. In 1997 til 2001, Bud & I were Foster Parents to a neice & nephew til I wanted to move back to Illinois, the state of FL placed them back with other family members. Dec 2001, I moved back to Illinois to be closer to my parents & siblings.

ere headed up to Yellowstone. Oh, was the scenery ever wonderful. We left there & headed to Black Hills of South Dakota & then went to a ranch in Winner, South Dakota to hunt prairie dogs. Had never done that before, done it twice now, but really not my cup of tea.
I now have my mom & son, 2 big black cats living with me here in Gibson City. I work as a home health worker & drive for a senior citizen transportation company, I really enjoy my jobs.
A new project I am involved with is helping others learn about the Agent Orange "Quilt of Tears" and at present I am making a quilt block in Bud's honor to present to Quilt of Tears overseers in Sep 19 & 20, 2009 at the 5th Annual Veterans Friendship Pow Wow in Edwards, Illinois. My brother, is with 40 & 8 & they will be presenting the Colors in opening ceremony. I am very excited about this project.
