Gail's Story
After Van Buren I went to nursing school and became an RN. I married my husband in 1968 while he was still in the navy. He went to Penn State after his discharge and was accepted to Univ of PA Veterinary School. We live in southeastern MA. For many years I worked as an RN in Labor and Delivery. I also taught Lamaze and Breast Feeding classes. We have 5 grown children, and 5 adorable grandchildren. 3 boys and 2 girls. Becoming a grandmother gives me the greatest excuse to keep my camera attached to me. I love my digital SLR. I can take hundreds of pictures and erase the ones I don't want.
Tom owns his Veterinary practice in Raynham, MA. I work as the clinic manager. It's a great job. Most of our employees have been with us for a long time. It's like having a second family. Tom has 2 part time vets working for him and they cover his hours when we travel. We never had too many chances to go anywhe...Expand for more
re when our children were younger. No one would watch them including my mother. They were good kids but there was too many of them for one person to handle. Anyway, we saved our traveling until they were in college. We try to get away 3 or 4 times a year. It gives you a better outlook of things in general when you have a vacation away from it all.
We don't plan on retiring anytime soon. We both have cut down our hours and only work 24-30 hrs a week. I love to listen to music, read and turn my thousands of pictures into ShutterFly books. Tom plays golf, gardens and loves to read historical novels. We just attended his 50th HS reunion in Slippery Rock, PA. They were 144 in his graduating class.
We have 2 cats, a Ragdoll named James and a British Shorthair named Patrick. We also have 2 Cavalier King Charles spaniels. I am secretary of our local Kennel Club and steward at dog shows in our area.
