Gail's Story
I was the in-the-background committee joiner in school. I loved sports but not the school team maker. Went to 4C's for a year, married Michael and had 3 daughters. Mike died in 1981 from 'Nam related illness. After that I was in and out of school and jobs while being single mom. Longest job was 13 years with the post office. Quit that, sold my house and went back to school in '98. Earned my B.A. and M.A. at UMass Dartmouth, lived on campus during school and in my camper during the summers. Now live in Bourne and working...Expand for more
as LMHC in New Bedford, mostly with kids and families trying to help them make life a little better. Did landscaping to work my way through UMD and now do it for exercise and my own sanity, oh, and for the money. Human services is not the field for anyone who seeks wealth. Life is my kids, grandkids, work, and being outdoors, not necessarily in that order. Currently (1/2012) Director of the Hyannis office of Child & Family Services, Inc...non-profit agency providing mental health counseling services throughout the Cape.
