Gail's Story

MY FAMILY AND I MOVED TO TARRANT WHEN I WAS IN MY SENIOR YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL.I HAD GONE TO PHILLIPS HIGH PRIOR TO THAT. I REALLY ENJOYED THE ATMOSPHERE AND SCHOOL SPIRIT THAT WAS SHOWN AT T.H.S. THIS HAS BEEN ALMOST 52 YEARS AGO. MY HOW TIME FLIES. I HAVE BEEN TO A FEW CLASS REUNIONS AND WAS PLANNING ON GOING TO THE LAST ONE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO AN UNEXPECTED EVENT. I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO CHESTER SMITH FOR 51 YEARS AND HAVE 3 RESULTS AND 9 GRANDCHILDREN. WE LIVE IN TRUSSVILLE. WE HAVE BEEN VERY BLESSED THROUGH THE YEARS AND I THANK THE LORD EVERY DAY FOR HIS BLESSINGS. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND MY MOTHER IS 92 AND IS THE PICTURE OF HEALTH. THE FUN I HAD AT T.H.S. I always wanted to be a NURSE when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a BAD idea. As it turns out, they were RIGHT. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel NOTHING and add on a POOLHOUSE. My dream home would be WHAT I HAVE. If I won $100 million, I'd give HALF of it to ST.JUDE, then spend the rest on CHARITYS, TRAVEL and FAMILY. My current age is 70. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be OLD/FEEBLE/SENILE. I was so completely WRONG. My ...Expand for more
best friend would tell you I'm FUN, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as TIMID. I share my home with MYHUSBAND, which I find WONDERFUL. DON'T HAVE THEM ON MY MANTEL BUT I'VE GOT LOTS OF TROPHIES OR VALUABLE POSSESSIONS. In 10 years, I hope to be HEALTHY AND STILL KICKING. I'm going to get there by EATING RIGHT AND TAKING CARE OF MYSELF. I HAVE LOTS OF OLDER FRIENDS THAT WE STILL KEEP IN CONTACT. MY OLDEST FRIEND IS SARA MOODY AND SHE IS LIKE A SISTER TO ME. WE HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR OVER 58 YEARS. BETTY AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN SISTER-IN-LAWS BUT MY HUSBAND'S BROTHER, FRANK, DIED JUST BEFORE THEY WERE MARRIED. My first job was at EXCHANGE SECURITY BANK, where I got paid ???????????? to ?????????. What I remember most about it is HOW TO MANAGE MONEY AND BUILD A GOOD CREDIT REPORT. . MY BEST CHILDHOOD MEMORY WAS STAYING AT MY AUNT CARRIE'S HOUSE AND LIVING ON HER FARM. SHE LIVED TO BE 95 YEARS OLD. SHE WAS SOOO MUCH FUN. SHE WOULD TAKE ME FISHING. WE WOULD GO TO THE WATERMELON PATCH AND BURST OPEN A WATERMELON AND SIT THERE ON THE GROUND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PATCH AND EAT WATERMELON. SHE WAS THE BEST.

Little bird slammed into the window. He was stunned and wanted Chester to help him. Climbed on his shoulder and finally right in his face. I rubbed the little finch's back when he got on Chester's shoulder and he flew aw
