Gail's Story
Life
When I look back at my life the years I spent in the Minnetonka area were some of my most "secure" childhood years. Married in 1962 my husband and I moved to Red Wing,
Mn, where I was involved in many community activities. I was one of 8 "founding members" of the Oral History Association of Minnesota. Very active in the Goodhue County Historical Society. Served as on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scout Council of Cannon Valley and
eventually spent 8 years as President of the Council. I was also involved for 12 years with the United Way of Red Wing organization serving on the allocations committee and as campaign director. For 20 years I worked as a resident
counselor for Lutheran Social Services.
We have two daughters and two grandchildren. Our oldest daughter works and lives in W...Expand for more
ashington D.C. Our youngest followed in Daddy's footsteps and is a probation officer in Dakota County.
When both girls moved away from Red Wing Jerry and I decided that it was time for us to go home. We missed the lake area and Jerry's family. We purchases a townhome near the Wayzata High School and retired. I am now reconnecting with high school friends and enjoying being "home" again. I spent so much time volunteering when I was younger that I have been slow to get involved with anything here. Giving some thought to what I might like to do....but taking my time.
My main activity is selling antiques. I enjoy the hunt and the sale of the items. Currently I belong to 2 book clubs and an investment club. Genealogy is another area of interest. I would enjoy hearing from any Minnetonka classmates.
