Gail's Story
Life
Well, I bought an incredible house in Wasilla Alaska, 46 miles from Anchorage. The house is a split level, three bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, which sits on 0.81 acres. The front is cedar stained and the lot is filled with birch trees...There were moose tracks in my yard the other day...I still work in Anchorage at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Labor & Delivery. My two sons, Michael (age 32) and Jeremy (age 27) are doing well. Michael has a son, Ian who will be 7 on March 1st and a new baby Matthew, born December 10, 2007. Jeremy has three children, Elizabeth who was 7 on May 16th and Johnathon who will be 7 on March 28th and Lia who was born on my mother's birthday, December 2. Lia is now 4. They are all precious...Grandma thinks so.
Also, my biggest news yet. I took back my maiden name. I figure that I have worked very hard putting myself through nursing school and I want to practice under MY OWN NAME. I have been divorced from Mike since 1982 and our children are grown with families of their own. They no longer need me to have the s...Expand for more
ame last name. It feels good to be me again.
I love to quilt. I started in January of 2001 and haven't been able to stop...I am finally finished with school, so I can do what I want. I have made the first three grandbabies a quilt for their first birthdays and still owe Lia a birthday quilt. My favorite one so far is a Giant Bear Claw quilt, which has applicaed Moose, Caribou, caribou tracks, mountains, and pine trees...I am definitely a winter person...most of my quilts are browns and dark colors. I love the light colors, but never seem to buy those colors...My most recent is a Giant Dahlia quilt...They are all quilted now. I had them handquilted by Pennsylvania Amish. They are a bit big for my machine...I got my daughter-in-law, Jennifer hooked and she is quilting away. Last year I taught her to crochet and she just blossomed. Go Jenn
I received my commission into the USPHS Commissioned Corps, effective the 19th of May (2003). No job change, just who pays my salary...
