Life
Folks, to save you the effort, please know that I don't do Facebook or other social network sites, so I can't "Friend" you. It's just not my thing.
Hi Fellow HHS Grads of 1965 -- I married a Navy man, left Memphis in 1966, and have lived my life in Washington State, currently in Anacortes, about 90 minutes northwest of Seattle. I had a career in Federal Civil Service, working for NAS Whidbey Island and later Naval Station Everett. I took an early retirement in Sep 2004 and am cruisin' thru life for a change. I returned to school (again!) in 1995 to finish my BA (1996) and earned a M.Ed (Adult & Higher Ed) in 2000, which aided me in my career. I have 2 sons: Jared, who lives in Colorado, and Ken, who now lives in Texas and has 2 children. In October 2009, my husband Jim Vyskocil, a retired Naval officer and wonderful gentleman, passed away, and so my life was once again reinvented -- the adventure continues. merican Samoa, Hawaii a few times, New Zealand (all over both islands), and in 2006 the Netherlands, Germany, and Basel, Switzerland. More recently, I toured Ireland, Great Britain, and the Canadian Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and saw the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. I still want to see Newfoundland. In Sep 2019, I returned to Scotland and toured the Highlands and some of the western islands. The British Isles are places I could return to many times and not be bored -- they are so beautiful. My favorite sport is downhill skiing, though ski trips are pretty rare now. Life is good, but it took a long time to get here! Sure wish there was a Leonard's Pit BBQ nearby. Out of all the BBQ I've tried, Leonard's will always remain my favorite -- nothing beats its fabulous flavor! And that was proved (at least to me!) when I was at our all-classes reunion in October 2018. A few of us met for lunch at Leonard's, and it was fabulous! So was the company (thanks Linda Wicker and Elbert Martz and the others).
