Glenn's Story
After all these years, I finally paid Classmates (once) to see who's been checking me out! Thanks for being interested! But little/few info/photos on each of you. If you travel, you can find me in Mexico City (I'm not hiding, nor a narco...mostly academics). Come before the Ice Age covers Chicago again...or before another Mayan faux-cateclism (gardner_ glenn at yahooooo dott kom). Can you believe we pay and can't just include our e - mails in normal form? A bunch of band members (J. Madej, T. Heads, M. Coffman, etc) did visit Schurz a couple of years ago, and got together with band director Valenciano. Nice to see them all. Even visited the band room and ROTC hall (most of the students nowadays have Latino surnames, not Polish). Have plenty of contacts in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta / Nuevo Vallarta/San Miguel de Allende/the Baja/Chiapas) who can get you an apartment (at golf club, downtown, etc on weekly/monthly, etc basis) if you want to escape the cold up North. I'm on Facebook and Linkedin...get in touch. Go, Schurz!
Added news (2014): my dad passed away at 94 in July...in excellent condition (he even insisted in driving...I drive too slow for him...on Easter Sunday) up until he started targeted-therapy medicine for an external tumor in April. That did him in quickly...but he suffered little relatively, thank God. His partner of 30 some years, Linda, is still at the family house. On the up-side: son Rodrigo finished his LLM at Boston University, got married civilly (church not until March 2015) to Karen Saldivar (civil engineer at the Oxxo convenient-store chain ...Expand for more
headquarters), both are in Monterrey, Mexico. He's in interational. corporate law at one of Mexico/Latin America's biggest law firms: Basham, Ringe y Correa.
Besides my never-ending volunteer work (Scouts, American community, etc), some teaching, some translations, I went with 6 friends to India for 3 weeks, stopping on the way in London, with a nice visit to Lynn Dryer (Hieatt) and husband in Cambridge. Wonderful trip all around. Photos on Facebook. Hope to get to more Schurz brunches when in Chicago! See you there!
2022: Schurz brunches ended a while back. I still go to Chicago every two months to pick up mail regarding the estate of my brother and sister-in-law, taking full advantage of a myriad of ethnic restaurants, especially in the Northwest side we know so well. Usually find Judy Halteman at home. Patricia and I are fortunate and healthy-enough to travel, now with her grandkids´ family. My son and I were inducted into the World Scout Foundation, for our support of Scouting worldwide. He made partner (intern. corp. law) at law firm (Basham, Ringe y Correa; 110 years in Mexico, founded by Americans) and his wife at Oxxo corporation (Mexico's version of 7-11s). No children yet. Hopefully we, and all of you, will enjoy a few more years of good health...

OK, I upload a few more photos than most (to say the least), but, absolutely NO idea why photos I post on FB for close friends and family get uploaded here without my doing anything!. I have to remove most. My apologies for (still) too many. How about everyone posting a few more of themselves!
