Garry's Story
After I graduated, I joined the U.S. Naval Service. I spent most of my career in San Diego. Other stops included Yokoham, Japan, Subic Bay, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia. I had a tour of duty in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and another tour in Japan. Lived/stationed in Mayport, Florida for a 3 year tour and traveled through the Caribbean, Mediterraean and more. I finally retired in 1992 (1 year constructive time towards retirement). I joined up immediatley with DHL Express, and just recently (August) i retired from their with a 20 year career. was able to learn a great deal about myself and was able to travel the world durning my career. I would look so forward to getting together with the class of 1973 to catch up on old times.
Addition: as of April 1st, 2013, It's been 30 years to the day since I had my last drink. I'm extremely proud of that. Prior to that, I had been a daily "practitioner" of the bottle. I had to change my lifestyle, including who I associated with, and change my activities. Went back to what I enjoyed most. The outdoors. Running & hiking. Have lost the 35 plus pounds I picked up, running 10 miles a day. I'll be a healthier & slimmer person come reunion time.
