Gary's Story

Well lets see. I married my high school girlfriend Sheila Cline. We had a good thing going but had our differences (mostly mine) and divorced after 5 years. No children. My biggest regret is that I didn't treat her better than I did. She deserved much better. After Mike Billingsley was killed in an auto accident I felt like I could never connect and have a close relationship with anyone. The fear of losing someone close became unbearable. We were brothers in spirit. We grew up and had almost every class together from elementary, JR high and high school. We worked side by side and had big plans in construction in our futures. A lot of things change when you hurt so bad mentally. I was'nt strong enough to change the things I should have. I still miss him so much. He was the BEST FRIEND and those lucky enough to have known him would agree. I started working at HARRIS SEMICONDUCTOR in 77 and was there till 89.In that span I remarried and built our first home off of Emerson Blvd in Palm Bay on the south side and had a 6 year relationship. We also had our differences (mostly hers) and moving to Calif. was not in my plans. So one day I came home to a note that Ca. was more important and that I was still welcomed to join her but I had no desire. So we divorced. No children. Then my world changed when I was mowing the lawn and this BEAUTIFUL woman named Kari (car-e) and a little girl named Jessica almost 2 yrs old came walking down my street and into my life. I stopped that mower, introduced myself and knew from that very moment that GOD had blessed me with a love so true, I knew that this would be my family for the rest of my journey in this world, we've never been apart since then. We"ve been together 24 yrs total this Nov.09 Those two girls changed my life forever. I would now know what it is to love so deeply. I heard this somewhere. I didn't marry my wife to be with her I couldn't be without her, how true this is. Since then we relocated to NC. Charlotte 89 to 90, Concord 90 to 91, Rockwell 91 to 95, back...Expand for more
to Concord built a new house, In 2000 Kari was asked by our Four Square Church denomination to be the administrator of Life East Bible College. So we sold our place and moved to Christiansburg Va. I took on the position of facilities manager at the school and took care of a 64 acre campus. Dorms, apts, school, church and grounds. We both became missionaries and became licenced pastors in the Four Square Church. We were there for 3 yrs till 03. the campus closed as a school and we moved every one to San Demis Ca. to our mother campus. We didn't feel GOD'S calling to go so we moved back to the west coast of Fl. in Hudson just north of Tampa to be close to Kari's family. Just a couple months after we got there her mother passed away. She got to spend some good quality time and was with her at the very end. Isn't GOD good! There was a real good reason for not going to Ca. We were there till 08 when we found out Jessica,(she's a hair stylist) was going to have her 1st and our 1st grandson. We wanted to get back to NC. so for us it was a no brainer. Packed up and moved in with her in Monroe NC. Now thats a change. Daylan Hunter was born Nov 11,08. This little boy ROCKS MY WORLD! The four of us just moved back to Concord in an older home we wish to purchase. I've been unemployed since May 07. I had to have a quadrupal by-pass in Oct 05. My employer thought it be best that I leave cause my job had been phased out. I'am doing fine. Kari works for McKay Belk, he's the grandson of the Belk family. She handles all his personal and family matters at the Corp. office in Charlotte. I work off and on with my brother Randy. He's known as Handy Randy in these parts. As for me I've become somewhat of a mountain man. We love the outdoors, camping, hiking, kayaking and snow skiing, anything to do with the outdoors. Well thats it in a nut shell. This site has opened up a side of my life thats been buried for a lotta years. I'am so glad that ya'll are sharing what are some of the best yrs ever. Warmest Greetings and Blessings
