Gary's Story
After over forty years working in the information technology and management consulting fields, I retired in 2011. One of my favourite projects towards the end of my career was to help my friend John Bernard build and set up the Grey Rocks Entertainment Centre (a legal casino on the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation Reseve in New Brunswick).

ly! It operated in Toronto from 1890 to 1913. Then in 2021 I published my second book about a US based school for watchmakers (The Elgin Watchmakers’ College) started by the Canadian who owned and operated the school featured in my first book. Call me crazy but now I am researching the very first school for watchmakers opened in North America. Spoiler alert. The name has changed but it is still around.
I am a Fellow of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) and produced the newsletter for the Ottawa Valley Watch and Clock Club for thirteen years. Check our web site at ottawaclocksandwatches dot ca
