Gary's Story
Life
After High School, I served three years in the 82nd Airborne Division. After getting out of the Army, I did some traveling in the U.S., Alaska, and Europe, then attended college at the University of Montana, and then graduate school at George Washington University. I worked for about six years for the U.S. House of Representatives in D.C. While there, I became interested in mountaineering, traveling to Vermont and South America climbing. pursue more climbing and worked for twelve years as the Executive Director of a nonprofit. After the terrorist attacks, I reenlisted in the National Guard and serve in a support position for 19th Special Forces Group and instruct in military mountaineering. I recently quit my job and am trying to purchase a business (maybe). I got married at age 44 and became the father of twins, Sadie and Seth, at age 48. My hobbies are mountaineering, hunting, photography, and some Scuba diving.
