Jeanne's Story
Life
My husband Gary and I work for the United States Bowling Congress and we travel all around the United States working the National Championships Bowling Tournament for 6 months out of each year. In 2002, we went to Billings, MT. In February 2003, we were in Knoxville, TN. Then to Reno in Feb 2004, Baton Rouge Feb 2005, Corpus Christi in 2006. Gary and I were given an additional job after the Corpus Christi tournament. After the tournament was over, we went from Ohio to Sacramento and covered Northern California down to Southern California and up to Northern Nevada. What we do, is go into different cities and bowling centers and promote the National Tournaments for the Open (which we work) and the Women's Naitonals. During our promotional trip in 2006, we drove over 11,000 miles and went to 180 centers. We then worked our tournament in Reno 2007 and we were close enough to be able to go to my 40th class reunion. with our friends for 5 weeks getting some much needed rest. Then on Sept 3rd, we went to Columbus for 3 weeks, Cleveland for 1 week, Toledo for 2 weeks, and up to Detroit, MI for 2 weeks. Then we drove to Milwaukee where we got to visit our home office and they set up a Tournaments Booth for us at Miller Park where the Bowling Masters were being held. We spent Master's weekend there and spent the rest of the week in Milwaukee doing promotions. Then we drove back to Detroit and stayed there for 3 weeks promoting the Women's Nationals to help get their entries up. The day before Thanksgiving, we left Detroit, and headed back to Ohio and had dinner with friends and spent the night in Columbus. Then we drove straight through to Miss, where I have relatives. We went on to Dallas and then to Albuquerque. We will be here for our tournament which ends in July. On our sales trip this time, we drove over 11,000 miles again. 200 bowling centers and 60 cities covering 6 different states.
We love our job and get to meet so many wonderful people.
