Gary's Story
Life
Graduated from Stadium in 1963. Served mission for the LDS Church in Germany (1965-1968). Graduated from the University of Washington in 1971 with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree. Back-packed around Europe 1971-1972. Married April Kay in June 1975. Started my architectural practice in 1983. My wife and I have five children, two of which are married. We also have 4 grandchildren (boys). We love to travel when we have time and any money. Life has had it's ups and downs, but it's been good. I did enjoy riding my motorcycle, until an accident put me in the hospital, about 10 days after our 40th reunion in 2003. Can't afford another one. I'm glad to still be around to be with my family. Looking forward to retirement in about 6 years. That's when our youngest child will be through college. He is currently in Brazil serving a 2-year mission for the LDS Church. Still living in the Puget Sound area, having recently started a new architectural firm with two other architects, called H3 Architects, PLLC in the South Hill area of Puyallup.

Workplace
Have worked in the architectural profession since 1972 in Washington, Idaho and Utah. Started my own architectural practice in December 1982. Closed my office in December 2000 to work for a large firm in Bellevue, Washington. Left that firm in August 2002 and started my own architectural practice again. Total enjoyment of architecture. Probably will not totally retire from this choosen career. It has been rewarding to see creative designs put down on paper (computers, now) and see them become a reality. Currenyl have two partners in the architectural firm of H3 Architects, PLLC, located in the South Hill area of Puyallup. We do both residential and commercial architecture.
