Gary's Story
Well... I had to laugh when the intro to this section talks about how cool I and my friends were... I think I was about as uncool as one could be while at Tech.
My grade school (Riley) is gone.
My Jr High (Franklin) is gone.
My high school (Tech) is gone....
...now I'm concerned about Iowa State.
Memories: old building... swimming pool like something out of the middle ages, and in the lunchroom daily while listening to Johnny Cash (I walk the line) and eating a hot dog.
New building... I was a monitor for the teacher's gated parking lot up the street, and watching Mr. Fisher drive under the gate with the w...Expand for more
indshield down flat on his MG TD so I didn't have to open the gate for him.
USAF for four years.
2 kids. 4 grandkids.
I've lived in or visited every state except MT and I plan on getting that one before September 17th.
Moved to the grey hair capital of North America about 22 years ago. Love it.
The picture of me included with this classmates material was taken on the stage at Sloppy Joe's Bar in Key West in the Ernest Hemmingway look-alike contest a year and a half ago. The pipe is real, but it hasn't been smoked since I was at Iowa State in the 60's. (I didn't win!)
