Moreen's Story
Life
I've lived in Manhattan,Kansas since 1976, where I went to KSU for two and a half years. I started working for Farm Bureau Insurance at the State Office in July of 1979, in FBM Finance & Accounting. In 2001, we began a merger with other Farm Bureaus, which changed things considerably.
After the merger, things weren't bad AT FIRST. I saw the writing on the wall and made the jump, after 24 years, I chose to look around, and found my dream job!
I am a Property Manager now-a very rewarding job. I love people, and the freedom this job provides me. I can't say enough about the people I work with here at Abbott Management-good people.
I married a Manhattan native, Gary Morgan in 1984. He has Holton roots, as both his parents grew up there! His Grandpa, Ora Morgan owned the Morgan Mill and his other Grandpa owned Grundeman Construction. ...Expand for more
Gary got to travel to Holton as a child every single weekend..........We have one grown daughter, Cheryl who is now 32. She is an Artistic Hair/ Nail Designer at "The Platform" here in Manhattan. She's a great young woman, and now a wife and mother of two sweet little boys. Amazing how quickly they grow up and move out. My husband Gary works at KSU Vet Med for almost 30 years!
No longer having our home in Holton was hard to get used to. 510 New Jersey Street and 824 New York will always be home to me. When we are in town, we always drive by them, and of course 314 Vermont Street too.
I subscribe to the Holton Recorder so that I can keep up on what's going on in Holton. We really like the Boomers Sports Bar! Love Holton Kansas! We managed to attend many services at EUM Church, but recently have not, Sundays have become our familty day.
