Gary's Story
I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1972 with a B.S. in Chemistry. I became a Naval Officer and flew Jets in the Navy till 1977 when the Navy was giving early outs after the Vietnam War. I decided not to make a career of the Navy but instead,went to graduate school at Georgia Tech. I received a M.S. in Physics in 1980, a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering in 1982, and a Ph,D, in Nuclear Engineering in 1987 while working at a Nuclear Power Plant where I wrote my Ph.D.. Thesis. for the government on Naval reactors designs, nuclear weapon systems, and classified programs at BWXT for 29 years. I am now retired and living in Maryland on 17 acres across the Cheaspeak bay from the Naval Academy with my wife and two of my three children's and their families. God has blessed me so much in so many ways. I still fly my private plane and still am healthy. I still remember the good time and school mates of the Class of 1968. I will post some pictures soon.
