Gary's Story
Well, I'm not dead yet..., Went to FCC, CSUF, Reedley College, Truckee Meadows C.C. Western Nevada C.C., Spokane Falls C.C. and the on-going school of hard-knocks and general nonsense... Retired for years now. Out in the boonies of N.E. WA. Flew airplanes, built airplanes, maintained airplanes etc; a bad habit I suppose... Spent years with Second Harvest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity doing good deeds.... boy, they broke me of that habit! Have traveled all over hell and gone; glad I got of the CA nut-house 40 years ago.
The 1976 graduation valedictory address; Rick Dodd encouraged all of us to vote for Jimmy Carter. Well, that worked out well.... Obama bin Brandon has been even more entertaining.
How would Miss Beadle explain "drag time story hour" to Ma' and Pa' Ingalls? How do we explain "transitioning" to John Wayne? "From the river to the sea" to Ann Frank?
Hope and change. Fundamental transformation. How lovely. As the witch said about that bucket of water..... "oh what a world, what a world!"

I would like to go into Art's Grubstake for a burger and shake. Try a milk shake at Sherrald's in Price, Utah the next time you pass through. It comes with a spoon. They are not kidding! When in Idaho Falls, check out the North Highway Cafe. Cozy's in Salina, Kansas will get you a bag of "sliders" and a drink for about six bucks. Don't ask for cheese on your burgers, they could get hostile! Ike liked the place. Tricky Dick perfered Merle's down in Visalia.
I was pleased to see a recent photo of a fellow classmate from 76' now wearing a prominent cross around his neck. I'm glad your no longer the mean little SOB I remember....
Nevada highway 278, twenty miles north of Eureka, early April; it's really quiet out here.... peacefull. No radio signal, sanity easier to maintain. West, west, way out west; rain on sagebrush, snow on the peaks. Enough gas on board to get to Elko. Freedom! (for a while yet...) Ten years living in Nevada; maybe I shouldn't have left. No, ten years was enough. It was time to go. (thirty years ago)
