Gary's Story
I left home half way through my senior year in High School. I lived with Rick Sympson's Family for three months until I could afford an apartment.
Becoming a Bricklayer at Youngstown Sheet and Tube kept me out of the service. I worked there for almost seven years before taking a job with the Medusa Cement Company in Milwaukee, WI. Thirty years later I am still selling cement. I also develop (and sometimes sell) computer programs in my spare time.
I am happily married and have a 17 year old daughter who went to State playing ...Expand for more
golf her Freshman year. We play almost every weekend during the summer. She was just offered a golf scholarship at Lakeland College... not her school of choice! Oh Well...
I know that everyone that reads this has their own 'story' to tell. I have told my wife and friends so many stories about Y-Town... attending Wilson High, The Hollywood Tavern, Foys Bar-B-Q, skipping school and going fishing with Miller and Boda... she often tells me that I should write a book. Title: 'Y-Town is My Town'.
