gary's Story

Work: I left Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores in 2006 to work for LB&B Associates on Ft. Leonard Wood Mo. where I retired from the Army in 1997. I am responsible to schedule over 30,000 preventive maintenance services for all buildings, equipment and grounds on the post. LB&B is a Government contractor.I am also the Work Control Supervisor responsible to manage the personnel who receive and dispatch all Work/Service Orders. It's so hard to believe how much the military has changed in the 14 years I been retired. It's a great paying job but sitting on my duff behind a computer for eight hours a day doesn't do much for me staying in shape as I did with Cracker Barrel. Plus having all on the man toys such as a backhoe, chain saws, log splitter, concrete mixer etc. makes life easier as we all grow older. So working out on the total gym and stationary bike is a must to try to stay in shape.iretired on 12 October 2018 for the last time .Had back surgery on th 25th and feeling like a new man. MILITARY: I started at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1973 for basic and advanced training, Then went to Ft. Belvoir in 1974 for specialized advanced training. In 1976 went to Ft. Dix NJ for an additional (MOS)Military Occupaitional Skill.. Then back to Ft. Wood Mo. until 1977. Went to Schofield Barracks Hawaii and from Nov 76 to April 77...Expand for more
was on the Island of Enewetak radio active clean-up project. Back to Hi. untiil June 80 when I went to the Island Guam for training with the 30th NCR (Navy) and then on to the Island of Ponape for a 6 month tour on a Civic Action Team of 14 of us. Then back to Hi till July 81 when I returned to Ft. Wood. Was selected and promoted as a Warrant Officer in 82 and left for Ft. Hunter Leggit Ca. in 83. Was transferred to Ft. Ord Ca. in 84 and was there till 86 when I returned to Ft. Wood for my advanvced course. Left ft. Wood in 88 for Ft. Rucker Al. to be a (TAC) Training Advising and Counseling Officer at the only Warrant Officer Candidate School. In 1991 I went back to Hi for three years and spent a fourth year completing my Bachelors degree in Business Administration. In 1995 I returned to Ft. Wood and retired here in 1997 as a CW3 Chief Warrant Officer 3.. I was a substitute teacher for one year and worked for a Government Contractor for two years developing training for the Engineer, Military Police , and Chemical Corps schools. I stayed busy working for Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores from 1998-2006. I was a corporate trainer going around to new stores training how to maintain and clean new stores so I traveled quite a bit. I did not get home to Ohio much but would like to hear from anyone with new info.
