Fast foreword 50 years.... The city of Lewisville, 20 miles north of Dallas where festival was held, has put up well over million bucks to recapture the magic of the past. Hosting a fifty year reunion of the First Texas festival.
Takes place this Labor Day.

Moved to Texas about 50 years ago. Quit my Job at IBM and joined with some Fraternity brothers and several others to promote rock festivals. Did one in Atlanta July...Expand for more
4th and another on Memorial Day in Dallas tx. Two week after Woodstock.
That was a life changing summer.
So now the update......
50 years later, the little town of Lewisville where festival was held has put over a million $$$ to recreate the festival. A fifty year reunion.
A Texas Historical marker was placed at the site and they now want to capitalize and show how cool a town they are.
