Gary's Story
Sadly I must tell you that my soul-mate of 47+ years has left this world on 10/15/14 after a short and somewhat traumatic illness. She was the light of my life who touched so many people in such positive ways. I'm sure she is singing away with the angels above and she didn't need to try out for the choir. Simon Lake with its 1500 member crew. After leaving the Navy I spent 8 years as a defense contractor with Alion Science and Technology in the Washington, DC area. Suffering those years in DC traffic, I decided to retire in 2004 to Palm Coast, FL, located on the Atlantic Ocean midway between St Augustine and Daytona Beach. Our daughter (professional architect in NYC) designed our dream home which I constructed as the general contractor. I enjoyed that experience so much that I am now a licensed FL Building Contractor building residential homes in our resort community of Hammock Beach. We love walking the beach which is only a 5 minute stroll from our house. Our other joy is a summer home on Bluff Point, Raquette Lake, NY, where we are from June to August. Come visit us at either location if you are in the area.
