Gary's Story
Life
Wow it is hard to believe it has been nearly 20 years since I graduated from high school.
After graduation I joined the Navy and was a corpsman with the Fleet Marine Force (Marines).
During my time in the Navy I was stationed in Okinawa Japan and was eventually deployed to the Philippines from December 1989 Â April 1990. While in the Philippines I provided medical support to the 9th Engineers Support Battalion who assisted Marine Barracks Subic Bay security force in combating communist rebels and elements of the New Peoples Army in a failed Coups Attempt in December 1989.
Shortly after my deployment to the Philippines I was deployed to Saudi Arabia from August 1990 Â April 1991. For Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm to liberate Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on August 2nd 1990.
In 1993 I was honorably discharged from the Navy and worked as a phlebotomist at Dean Medical Center (1993-1994)and Meriter Hospital(1994-1999)

Falls Wisconsin with my wife Valerie and two cats Angel and Flash.
Since 1999 I have been working as a personal trainer. I started my career with Northwest Athletic Club in Minneapolis MN, and I am currently employed as a personal trainer by Life Time Fitness in Woodbury, MN.
Along with being a certified personal trainer I am also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES),
In January 2008 I will attend UW River Falls, to study Health and Human Performance.
I do miss living in the Madison area but I was able to find greater career opportunities in the Twin Cities area. However at the rate Life Time Fitness is expanding I feel there is a chance that I will someday return to the Madison area.
The nice thing about living in Northwestern Wisconsin is that it offers a nice environment for me to enjoy my hobbies which are hunting, fishing, and cycling.
