Gary's Story
After graduation, I headed to Seattle to get a job and take some college classes. Ended up joining the Army in August '65. I enlisted into the Army Security Agency, and after basic training at Ft. Ord, CA, I went off to Advanced Training at Ft. Devens,MA, for 6 months. After graduating Morse Code school, I was assigned overseas, to a little outpost southwest of Ankara, Turkey. es in May '68, and was assigned to Vint Hill Farm Station, VA (about 35 miles west of Washington,DC).
While stationed in Virginia, I met my future wife, and have been in the DC area ever since. I had three daughters and have 5 grand kids. My wife passed away in Aug '02.
I am retired from the Depart of Defense, and am living with my middle daughter, Shannon.
