Gary's Story
My wife, Hana, and I have been married for 29+ years and have three sons, Chris who is 25, Adam who is 22 and Nate who is 11. We live in Laytonsville, MD. I graduated from University of Maryland School of Medicine with a BS in Medical Technology. After working for 3 years in the clinical laboratory, I went back to school to obtain a Master's in Heath Care Administration. I have been fortunate to have a career with the National Cancer Institute in a job that I love and that provides me meaning and purpose and the opportunity to work with an outstanding group of researchers, physicians, pharmacist and nurses who are dedicated to improving the treatment for individuals with cancer or those who are at risk of developing cancer.
Our son Chris graduated cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Towson University and is working for a firm in Bethesda. Adam played soccer in high school and was granted a partial scholarship and the opportunity to play D-3 so...Expand for more
ccer at Washington College (Chestertown, MD). He graduated in May, 2015 with a double major: Economics and Environmental Studies and just started Law School at University of Baltimore. Adam's soccer endeavors have landed us some fantastic trips including Rio De Janeiro (club team in high school), Barcelona and Madrid (college team). Clearly, the boys inherited their mother's intelligence and athleticism! Nate is following his brother's footsteps and is playing travel soccer.
We have traveled throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and to the U.K., Spain and Brazil. We enjoy vacationing at the beach. One of our favorite places is the Outer Banks of NC (Corolla), attending Nate's soccer games, and gardening. We also enjoy hanging out with the family and have dinners with the boys and their girl friends. It is nice to have the older boys through the teen age years and re-connect as adults. We look forward to having daughter-in-law(s) in the near future.
