Gayla's Story
Life
Married 18 yrs, div. in '02. I have 2 sons (39 & 24) and 3 grandkids. I moved to So. CA after graduating and worked full-time for 15 yrs. Married and moved to NC. Loved it there! Except for the humid summers. Moved to Oregon-didn't care for the winter rains or volcano, altho the mild temps and the scenery were great! Now I'm in Idaho - moved here to care for my father, who passed away in Mar, 2008. While married, I was a home-maker, and home-schooled my younger son for a few years. Loved it! Now, I'm starting a cottage industry that I'm very excited about. If I get rich and famous, please let me know! ;-> Ha!
School
I moved to Gustine with a city population of 2,500, from a school that had a student body of 2,500, half way through my Jr. year.
I was always too shy to go out for cheerleading, the drama club or any of the other fun things most kids did - although I sure wanted too! But I did have fun and my last 1-1/2 years of H.S. were some of the best memories of my life!

soned her putting a huge amount of cayenne pepper in the Lobster Thermador! But she ate it anyway - she had to, it was being graded.
I remember being in a beauty pageant just before my 17th birthday. What was that? The Miss Gustine Pageant? I'm not sure but I do know I was extremely embarrassed because I was so shy!
There are so many memories. I really enjoyed those years and wish I could do them all over again!
Workplace
I worked full-time from '68-'84 at a variety of jobs, everything from a veterinary hospital rec/asst/bkkr to the liason officer for a company collecting and computerizing missile data for the Naval Weapons Station at Fallbrook. My "job" from '84-'02 was as a full-time wife and mother (Jackie of all trades ;-> ). Now that I'm single again, and the mothering part is over, I'm starting a new career. Not sure I want to go back into the accounting or computer fields, but can't wait to see what the next 20 years provides! Would love to have my own business this time around, so that's what I'm shooting for.
