Gayle's Story
Hello Classmates,
We had an awesome class! I remember chemistry with Mr. Hewlett, French Lab with Mme. Cartier and all the other wonderful MLW teachers. Our majorettes were the best!
I met my husband, Jim, at VUU, 49 years later we have three children and nine grands. We worked in our family business with his mother, Ophelia DeVore. Our core business was personal presentation and self-development training. We also managed modeling and talent agency.
Jim and I are retired now and have recliners...mine is electric, SMILE! We currently live in Manhattan after years in Teaneck, NJ, Bridgewater, CT, and Palm Springs.
One of my passions is travel and my favo...Expand for more
rite explorations have been in Egypt, Paris, Hawaii, Grenada and ports in the Caribbean.
It is wonderful that we have lived to witness the passing of the the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act and the transition from our segregated school system to a Black man as president. I am honored to have received a personal letter from President Obama congratulating me on my retirement. I received this letter, possibly, because my granddaughter worked for the President as an intern. ð It pays to know people in high places like my MLW classmates. I'm reading about you and your accomplishments. Congratulations!!
Wishing you good health, stay strong.
