Gaylord's Story
Life
Attended grade school in Haugan MT
through the 6th grade (It was a one room school - 1st thru 8th grades). Junior High and High School were in
Van Nuys, CA. For senior year
and graduation, I attended Superior HS, Superior MT.
Workplace
After military retirement, I formed my own company to support high technology space activities. The main program was Gravity Probe B, a test of Einstein designed by Stanford University. Other programs were Iridium, a global communications satellite system and next generation GPS.

ademy graduating in 1964 with a Bach Science degree. First assignment Stanford University for a Masters in Aero/Astronautics in 1965. Assignments included creating and developing GPS(Global Positioning System), Missile Guidance Systems, Maneuvering Reentry Vehicles and future AF systems. I retired with my final assignments as Director of Space Plans developing future space systems and then lastly, Director of GPS. My career was a lot of fun, I got to spend lots of money and tried to do a good job. All of my programs were successful with GPS topping the list in fame.
