Geanetta's Story
Left Vance Senior High school after graduation to attended N.C. Agricutlral and Technical State University where I obtained a B.S. Degree in Marketing in 1987. From there I moved to Washington D.C. in search of work. Months later, I landed a permanent job with the Federal Government, the U.S. Department of the Interior and two years after that, the Environmental Protection Agency where I am currently employed. I have been in the Federal Government now for 20 years with the majority of it as an Environmental Protection Specialist.
If anyone remembers me from school, I loved to sing. In the Metro area, I have been a part of many Gospel groups. I have opened up for Acts such as William Becton, John P. Kee and Timothy Wright. rm on the Millinium Stage at the Kennedy Center. At the moment, I have formed a Gospel Group called "Just Breathe". We are a group of 4 women who minister truth as it relates to the Holy Word. We will drop our debut project sometimes this summer or sooner.
I was married on November 11, 2000 to a native Washintonian Rodney Heard. We have a son Rodney Heard Jr. We reside Mittchelville, Maryland where we pay lots of bills. We love to travel as a family and have been to Aruba, Mexico, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. We hope to soon go to Egypt, Austraillia and Montu Pintcu.
I can say that life after high school has been a great journey some roads smooth sailing but others bumpy and dusty. I am thankful to have made it to our 25th class reunion year and hope to see many more.
