Gena's Story
Been arrested four times protesting abortion with Christian Pro-life; served as an elections judge in Republican primaries and general elections; am on the Board of Directors of a large no-kill animal shelter; have had ten back surgeries since leaving the military, also need both hips and one knee replaced. Going to have surgery on neck or lower back next month, six months later will have surgery on whichever one wasn't done next month. I'm currently living in a small town in the hill country, where I care for about 50 elderly or handicapped dogs from the shelter, we really are no-kill. I'm heavily involved in the activities of the Republican Party in that town, I've been a Republican my whole life. Amongst my cherished belongings are a letter from Richard Nixon after I had written him shortly after he resigned from the Presidency, and had told him that I felt history would eventually recognize him as one of our greatest presidents. His reply was handsigned and I do cherish it.
