Gene's Story
Life
My daughter was born in Forest Ranch CA on May 7,1987 in the home I built in 1983. Waganupa (Mt. Lassen) is only 50 miles from us. Life is great. My wife of 16 years, and I own and run a soap manufacturing business from our home.We have two sons age 42 and 32. I also have an Acupressure/Stress Mgmt business located in Chico CA and am an EMT. In 2001 for a little diversity, I started a Traveling Notary Public business. I do a lot of volunteer work in the county; as an Asst Fire Chief for our local company; using my acting skills in a prevention education program call "Every 15-Minutes"; member of a local "Critical Incident Management team for emergency personnel; conduct spiritual ceremonies and more.
I find plenty of time to enjoy hiking, swimming and canoeing in the woods, lakes and other wilderness areas along with travel. Kathleen & I returned from a month in the Ecuadorian Rain Forest at the request of a Quechua family in 2005. 2013 was an eventful year, ending with a trip to the southwest visiting our son in the Phoenix area. Our home is a sanctuary that we share with others. I feel I live a blessed life even with the chaos in the world, I still see Beauty all round me.

udied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and Desilu Studios. During the early '70s I apprenticed and studied a variety of oriental health disciplines, Earth based teachings from a number of Native American Elders and leaders in the Human Potential Movement. After arriving in Northern California, attending Butte Community College, I certified as an EMT (emergency medical technician) and then later as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I attained an A.S. degree at that time. I also hold a Small Systems Water Operators License and a Notary Public cert.
As I have said before, I am diversified.
Workplace
Currently I am self employed in health services and soap manufacturing (a cottage industry which includes the internet). Throughout the years I have worked in entertainment (on and off stage), in corporate America in sales, in publishing and communications. Some of my business adventures include food route sales, jewelry making and the craft faire circuit, emergency medical dispatcher and currently an Acupressurist and stress management-spiritual adviser, soap manufacturer and Notary Public. I am currently the Assistant Chief of the Forest Ranch station of Butte County Fire & Rescue and have been a volunteer firefighter for 27 years. I maintain a diversity in my life that allows for growth and learning.
