Retired from being a Social Worker in the Randolph Country Department of Social Services. I worked in Child Protection. After graduating from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I realized this field required a Phd to be really useful. I knew I wanted to work in the "people fields," and had taken a few psychology courses, but did not realize I should have gone for counseling or social work. I really wanted to work in the drug/alcohol recovery field, or so I thought. The BA in Psy was the entry I thought I wanted, but hindsight is 20/20. Actually, the CPS field is more rewarding than the other would have ever been.

nd I wondered if he was right. I went from that first day as a worried boot to my last day in Norfolk as a seasoned Master Chief and had very few regrets along the way. I lost some good friends along the way, some died and some just went away. I gained a fabulous best friend and wife. I lived in many different cultures and discovered what it really meant to be an American. I spent too many years in Great Lakes, as a student and as an instructor, but I always enjoyed getting back there.I was a crew member of three ships, Cambria (APA-36), Nashville (LPD-13) and ANZIO (CG-68) and even helped to build the last one. In addition I rode 8 different friggets and a cruiser as the Staff Career Counselor (Comdesron-33) I have ridden many unnamed submarines while at E&R New London and OPTEVFOR, but mostly - I have met some really great people and the people are the memories. Thanks to all of the people for all of the great times!
