Geoffrey's Story

After I left Watauga, I went off to Georgia Tech--studying Physics. Graduated in 1992 and went to work for NASA. NASA gave me graduate leave and I went off to do my PhD at U. of Colorado at Boulder. Did that. Returned to VA to work for NASA. Got bored. I went to work on a trading floor and traded energy derivatives for a year and half. Not my dream job. came a consultant to trading desks. Went through the dot-com thing--company broke up. Started my own company, quantext.com, in March of 2002. Going strong. Having fun. I got married in 1995 to Michelle, who I met in Boulder. We have two children--Ellen (10) and Wyett (7). We live in Boulder and we love to ski (alpine and nordic), play soccer (I coach two teams) and related stuff.
