Geoffrey's Story
After graduating from Clairemont High School, I attended San Diego State, receiving a BS in journalism (1971), a secondary teaching credential (1972), and a BA in English (1974). I worked as a reporter for the Chula Vista Star-News (1972-73), a teacher at Calexico High (1973-74), a curriculum writer for San Diego City Schools (1974-75), a teacher at El Capitan High (1975-76), and a teacher at Grossmont High (1976-2009) until my retirement. wife and I have been working on our bucket lists -- a two-month Eurail trip across Europe, cruising on a paddle wheeler down the Mississippi River (from Memphis to New Orleans), summer camping and rock climbing in Tuolomne Meadows, as well as a 2015 road trip circling Wyoming, with week-long stays in Durango, Colorado, and West Yellowstone. In 2019, our daughters blessed us (three months apart) with our first grandchildren -- Raena Joy and Blake Anderson.
