George's Story

If I knew I was such a cute kid "then" perhaps I might not have become the shyest kid in school. I only remember the biggest, roundest, crying-est eyes I have ever seen being pulled away around the corner and out of sight. How stupid I was! I graduated Grade 12, and two Red River College courses: auto mechanics (graduated with a glut of graduates into a workforce that was trying hard to hold on to the employees they already had) and Computer Analyst/Programmer (got in "too late" as again I graduated with a glut of graduates into a saturated workforce - although it has come in handy from time to time). Neverthless I maintained a steady work record until I found my self the full-time caregiver of my parent. It's not the most appealing thing socially to say you live with your "mommy." "Can't get away from the titty, eh?" "Hmmpf..." Actually, when we moved in together to a nice apartment in 1989, she was completely independent - hard to remember that now. We each lived our own lives and did our own thing. She was happily retired and I was working my butt off. As she slowly degenerated, so did I, but into a deep depression, anxiety, and agoraphobia. So here we sit, both quite alone, if it were not for al...Expand for more
l the Home Care workers she gets. Three times a day clean-up, and once-a-week laundry and general cleaning. When I began my last job, my waist was still 29". It ballooned to 42" doing nothing but sitting at a desk. Thankfully I un-snacked it down to 38", but I am still more leg than torso. If I ever have tuck in my shirt, I look like that kid Erkle from that old sit-com! So I always get 3-piece suits, so there is a vest to keep me looking "normal." Would love to exercise more, but it's hard to get the want-to on your own. Am in recovery, so our living situation is looking more and more like another break-up is imminent. I've a fantastic work ethic (that was buried in shyness in the old school days) and a growing need to get working and social again. If anybody out there feels like Skyping me (stingafurt), I have a great webcam, so drop me a line in my guestbook! It would be a real help getting me socialized again, and I promise I am NOT a weirdo! You could call me out of the Victorian Era! I'm so square I could cut myself on my edges! I don't like to talk dirty. I stay true to my Faith. In fact, if someone out there were kind enough to want to Skype together, I doubt what to say! To All, Good Health!
