George's Story

I just hope they remember me. I always wanted to be a policeman when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong, I'm too headstrong. I try not to relax until everything is completed. No Way!! If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, money, and a clear head to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I have a lot of heroes, but more important anyone who gets up to face this world today, who goes to work and can make something of themselves and their family, is my hero. I have lived in Florida for my entire life, except for the traveling, and there's been a lot, I have done and continue to do. I don't think I am obsessed with anything, I am addicted to flying though. My biggest surprise has been for others, doing things everyone told me I could not do or would not finish, I've completed everything I have tackled and set out to do so far and I'm still young and still taking on challenges. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel nothing and add on a nothing. My dream home would be a tad smaller. Let them be Individuals and their own people, give them guidance and good moral values. Rita Evans, I was so in love with her in high school. If I won $100 million, I'd give 20% of it to a lot of needy people who would use it wisely, then spend the rest on taking care of my family and close friends for the rest of their lives, retirement and of course first pay tithes and taxes. nope Right where I am at, I am truly happy, I am also saddened by the decline of the moral value system and fabric of this country, I don't think it has turned out like our founding fathers planned. My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so c...Expand for more
ompletely wrong. I have my career aspirations completed, I do what I have wanted to do for most of my life. She passed away. My best friend would tell you I'm outspoken, truthful and speaks his mind, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as who the hell was that. You gotta be joking. The weirdest job I ever had was hooking up dredging pipes under water. I don't know if that's weird though. I share my home with my wife, my 22 year old son who we do not want to leave, I wish all my boys and daughter in laws and grandchildren would live with us, our fish, dogs, and turtles which I find relaxing. Got em, don't want to brag about em. Never do anything to hurt anyones feelings, tell my parents how much they meant to me more often than I did and I would have kept all the damn classic cars I bought for pennies when I was young and thought they would be worth nothing. In 10 years, I hope to be 65. I'm going to get there by praying a lot and maybe eating right. My oldest friend is my brother Dennis, you know how we met. The others are still friends because they accept me for the person I am. Maybe being successful, but then again I don't go, I got my diploma at a community college. My first job was at Burger In, where I got paid 45.00 a week to flip burgers. What I remember most about it is I really loved that job and Chris Portewig, he treated me like I was his son, I still think of him often and what a ball we had working there. Although Chris was always wondering how we got mustard and ketchup on the ceiling. I started there at 14 and worked there part time while working a day job until I was in my twenties after a short stint with Uncle Sam. The Burger In wasn't a job, it was just fun to be there.
